OUR 5 FAVOURITE TASSIE AIRBNB’S

From sweet farm stays to tiny homes to an old sailors tavern! Here are some of our favourite must have stays in Tasmania.

We recently spent a few weeks traveling around Tasmania and quickly noticed the beautiful detail in all of the airbnb’s we stayed in! Each of these are beautiful in their own way and vary in price and style. There really is something for everyone.

Birdsong - Bruny Island

Birdsong was everthing we anticipated and so much more! This cottage is nestled into the hillside above Adventure Bay, offering a tranquil bush getaway with incredible views. We arrived on one of the colder march days and soon found our way around the beautiful indoor fireplace which really set the mood of our stay!

Luke was looking for somewhere to really slow down and Birdsong was perfect for this! Birdsong had literally everything we needed to ‘set in’ for the weekend. There was an entire cupboard dedicated to board games, kids toys and backyard games aswell as an outdoor fireplace and tub! The kitchen was also super impressive boasting more utensils than ours back home! There was a second bedroom so is great for families as well.

We loved our stay here as it was very secluded yet only a short drive from Allonah and Adventure Bay and really made our trip to Bruny Island super memoriable! One note is that we had a midnight visitor (Large Black Ringtail Possum) who was so cute and curious! So don’t be afraid if you hear footsteps on the balcony late at night!

The Ship inn - Stanley

If you have ever been to Stanley you know how beautiful the Colonial Architecture is, and if you havent - be prepared to be transported through time! Once an 1800’s sailor’s tavern now an award winning hotel, the Ship Inn was one of my major highlights from our trip to Tasmania.

Situated at the foot of the Nut, The Ship Inn oozes sophistication and nostalgia featuring multiple different suites that cater to type of budget. We stayed in “Greenhills” which looks out into an open bay and rolling hills that sit beyond Stanley. The suite had all the essential’s as well as complimentary continental breakfast (yummy fresh sourdough) and pod coffee machine.

Not only is the decor and interiors beautiful in the rooms, the hotel also has a stunning guest lounge where you can enjoy the space as well as coffee machine, tea station and koi pond. Along the back side of the building is where you’ll find the communal gardens blooming with beautiful colours and a swing that overlooks Stanley.

Too our surprise we stumbled upon a fully loaded gym! At this stage of the trip we had been getting a little lazy so it felt great to sweat off some of the wineries we had visited! We were also lucky enough to take the communal bikes for a ride through town which added a unique touch to our stay here! 100% visit if you can and we can’t wait to come back here!

hideaway Farmlet - penguin

Whats better than goats? Miniture goats!! Whats better than Miniature goats!? Sleeping next to them! Well, thats not really what happens here but kind of!

Hideaway Farmlett is a short drive from the unique township of Penguin on Tasmanias North Coast. The town was definitely one of the more quirky places we visited and had so much Penguin paraphanelia you would think it was straight out of a theme park gift shop! Most of the street posts are moulded into cute penguins and they even have a giant penguin statue in the main road!

The farmlet itself was cosey and had incredible interiors that lended to the 1940’s cottage vibe. Being a goat studfarm, the property really plays upon this, with morning feeding experiences available on stay as well as an impressive amount of goat inspired artwork inside. We really enjoyed all these touches when we were here, from the beautiful house key to the complimentary snack box everything flowed effortlessly. When we were there it was covered in beautiful red and green autumn leaves that swayed in the wind as if out of a dream! Hideaway is perfect for couples looking for a place to explore the area or simply wind down!

Protea Hill Cottage - Launceston

We booked this one last minute and were pleasantly surprised at how perfect it was for our time in Lonny. Located only 10 mintues away from the city centre, Protea Hill is a quaint cabin located in the hills overlooking the Tamar River. It’s beautiful woodwork compliments the hillside very nicely and even has a little balcony to sit on and watch the sun go down. We enjoyed a wine here and cozied up into the big bed, feeling warm and fuzzy! It’s also a short drive away from the Tamar Valley which is a playground for wine and seafood enthusiasts! Highly recommend!!

Naivasha Tiny House - reedy Marsh

Located just a short drive from Deloraine in the mid north east, Naivasha Tiny House offers a truely unique and idylic stay suited to couples or singles alike whom are craving a place to escape and rejuvinate.

We arrived to the soothing sound of jazz music playing over the south system and instantly felt relived after quite a long day of driving. Helping ourselves to the complementary Port, we then wandered down the wooded steps outside to dive into the already warm outdoor hottub, which was a perfect way to cap off the afternoon.

Being a small space it’s always tricky to fit all the neccesities in yet everything about Naivasha had been carefully thought of, from the decor and impressive sized kitchen to the detailed placements of the skylight upstairs, Naivasha tiny house really felt like a home away from home. It’s also a great place to spot pademelons and rabbits, aswell as a few cheeky inquisitive chickens that Luke was obsessed with!

That concludes our favourite stays from our 3 week trip in Tasmania! There are so many more sweet little stays we didn’t get to experience so we can’t wait to come back and visit again, (maybe in the warmer months) so stay tuned for more travel content from us!

Thanks so much for reading, we hope you enjoy your day!
